Waterjet cutting technology utilizes high pressure water with an abrasive media, and is capable of cutting complex parts from a variety of materials, including steel, stone, glass, ceramic, rubber, plastics and composites. The process is perfect when minimal heat generation is required, dimensional accuracy is not critical, and surface finish requirements are flexible. Irregular shaped parts are the ideal candidate for this process, as work holding challenges experienced in conventional machining methods are eliminated.
